 Who is Aleksei Navalny?

Aleksei Navalny is a lawyer turned activist came to prominence in 2008 after he started exposing corruption in RUSSIAN politics through a blog and in 2018 he was barred from standing against PUTIN in the presidential elections.


He has also been arrested on multiple occasions and since he started political campaigning, Aleksei Navalny has spearheaded many anti-corruption rallies in Russia.

What is case?

Last year,Aleksei Navalny was hospitalized after he suffered an allergic reaction in jail,possibly from an unknown chemical substance. Two years before this,Aleksei Navalny was doused with a bright green liquid in the Siberian city of Barnaul by an assailant who pretended to shake hand.

On Thursday Russia's most prominent opposition leader Aleksei Navalny was put on ventilator support in a Siberian Hospital after he consumed a cup of tea that is suspected to be poisoned.

Navalny's spokesman Kira Yarmysh said on Twitter that while Navalny was returning to Moscow by air he felt unwell as a result of which the plane made an emergency landing in Omsk.She also added that Navalny has toxic poisoning.

Some Other Cases:

Sergei Skripal: On march 4 2018 , former Russian spy Skripal and his daughter Yulia skripal were found Unconscious on a bench in British city Salisbury after they were poisoned by a military grade nerve agent Novichok. Both of them have since recovered,including Police.


Alexander Litvinenko: Former spy Litvinenko who was being paid by the MI6 and was investigating Spanish links to Russia, was killed in November 2006 after he ingested a fatal dose of polonium 210 while drinking tea at Millennium Hotel in London in 2001 was given asylum in Britain.


There are some other cases also.

In addition:

Russian doctors say leading opposition figure Navanlny whose supporters believe was poisoned remains too ill to be moved to Germany for Treatment.

Class of '83' review: Law, order and the training of killer cops

  Atul Sabharwal’s film, about a group of policemen given free rein to eliminate gangsters in 1980s Mumbai, might be a bit too taut. It would seem that a few months of online premieres have done what a century of theatrical releases couldn’t: tame the running times of Hindi films.  Raat Akeli Hai  may have stretched its legs but  Shakuntala Devi  and  Gulabo Sitabo  were just over two hours,  Gunjan Saxena  and  Dil Bechara  were 112 and 101 minutes, while  Bulbbul  was a scarcely believable 94 minutes. At an hour and 38 minutes,  Class of ’83  is another time-efficient title. Yet, this is one film that actually needs that extra hour. Atul Sabharwal’s film begins at a police training academy in Nashik in 1982, where five cadets are having a tough time reining in their rebelliousness and keeping up with lessons.
